MARKETPLACE PHILADELPHIA FLIES HIGH IN CHARITY PLANE PULL
Team Raises Money and Awareness for Ronald McDonald House in Fifth Annual Plane Pull

PHILADELPHIA — May 8, 2013 — The team at MarketPlace Philadelphia Management pulled their weight, and more, at the fifth annual Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House (PRMH) Plane Pull event on Saturday, May 4.

Held on Atlantic Aviation’s tarmac at Philadelphia International Airport, the Plane Pull is organized by The Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House and is designed as a tug-of-war competition between teams to see who can pull a plane over the designated distance in the shortest amount of time. Most importantly, the event raises funds and awareness for PRMH, helping local families in need.

MarketPlace Philadelphia raised more than $10,000 for the Plane Pull event. Bob Mullen, Construction Manager of MarketPlace Philadelphia, collected $3,820 and was named highest fundraiser among all of the participants. Additionally, merchants from the Philadelphia Marketplace Food & Shops made in-kind donations of food and refreshments that totaled more than $4,500. Participating merchants included The Paradies Shops, Departure Spa, Minute Suites, Time to Fly, Chick-Fil-A, Philly Soft Pretzels, Philly Bends & Twists, Jack Duggan’s, Villa Pizza, Wendy’s, Sweet Flights, Au Bon Pain, Green Leaf, Le Bus Café, Peet’s Coffee, Good 2 Go, Dunkin Donuts, Roster, Angelina’s Panini Bar, Chickie’s & Pete’s.

“There were plenty of winners, but none bigger than the area families supported by the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House,” said Mel Hannah, vice president and general manager of MarketPlace Philadelphia Management. “We are proud to be able to share in the success of the annual Plane Pull event.”
