PHILADELPHIA — September 19, 2013 — The Philadelphia Marketplace Food & Shops at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) congratulates Jet Rock Bar & Grill as the 2012-2013 “Merchant of the Year” award recipient. The announcement came during a black and white-themed celebration held at the Hotel Monaco yesterday.
Ed Dingler, manager for Jet Rock Bar & Grill, was awarded $1,000, the EDGE! trophy and the coveted title of Merchant of the Year. Jet Rock Bar & Grill is run by OTG Management, an award-winning food and beverage operator with more than 175 restaurants and eateries in 10 airports. Founder and owner Rick Blatstein first ventured into the airport space at PHL more than 17 years ago.
The Philadelphia Marketplace’s Cutting EDGE! Program (Excellence Drives Great Experiences) was designed to motivate and reward merchants for providing great customer service to passengers at PHL. Each merchant can earn EDGE! points for exceeding expectations through great customer service, marketing and training. At the end of each quarter, the merchant with the most points is named Merchant of the Quarter, and the merchant with the most points overall is named Merchant of the Year.
The restaurant and retail quarterly winners for 2012-2013 include:
• Q1: Jet Rock Bar & Grill (Terminal B) and Fire & Ice (B/C Connector)
• Q2: Legal Sea Foods (B/C Connector) and Rosetta Stone (Terminals B and C)
• Q3: Vino Volo (D/E Connector) and InMotion Entertainment (B/C Connector)
• Q4: Jack Duggan’s Pub & Restaurant (Concourse A East) and Roster (B/C Connector)
