MEL HANNAH ADVANCES TO VICE PRESIDENT & GENERAL MANAGER
Fourteen-year MarketPlace Philadelphia Management Veteran Takes On a New Role

PHILADELPHIA – Feb. 7, 2013 – MarketPlace Philadelphia Management is pleased to announce the recent promotion of Mel Hannah to vice president and general manager.

In his new position, Hannah manages an award-winning retail redevelopment program that covers more than 135,000 square feet of space in the Philadelphia International Airport. His responsibilities include working with merchants to maximize sales, overseeing the design and construction of restaurants and shops, and managing the day-to-day operations of the retail program.

Over the last 14 years, Hannah has played a vital role in MarketPlace Philadelphia’s success through his previous positions as manager of retail operations and, most recently, vice president of retail operations.

“Mel brings a wealth of experience and commitment to his new position,” said Clarence LeJeune, the president of MarketPlace Philadelphia Management. “We wish him much success and are confident that the Philadelphia project is in good hands.”

Prior to joining the MarketPlace Philadelphia team, Hannah worked with The Rouse Company, a Maryland-based shopping-mall developer that has since been bought by GGP, another development company. At The Rouse Company, Hannah was the regional security coordinator and director of operations at Harborplace and The Gallery in Baltimore, Md. During his tenure there, he also played an important role in the development and implementation of the Baltimore City Downtown Safety Coalition, which was instrumental in working with the Baltimore City Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies to create a safe and comfortable environment in the downtown area.
