ABOUT CHICKIE’S AND PETE’S
The first Chickie's & Pete's was opened in 1977, in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia by Peter Sr. and his wife Henrietta. Peter and Henrietta’s son, Pete, began experimenting with seafood recipes and the Famous Crab Fries were born, making Chickie’s & Pete’s the most poplar bar around. Chickie’s & Pete’s has grown to include six locations in the tri-state area. In 1998, Chickie's & Pete's opened at Veterans' Stadium. The following year, a much larger Chickie's & Pete's was developed on the Roosevelt Boulevard in the Far Northeast. The largest restaurant, located in a 24,000-square-foot former Super Fresh building on Packer Avenue in South Philadelphia, seats 750, features a 70-foot bar, 12-foot TV screen and has 100 employees.
