    PHILADELPHIA — July 18, 2014 — Sandwich lovers now have another way to satisfy their cravings at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). The grand opening of PHL’s first-ever Subway took place this week in the B/C Connector. Representatives from MarketPlace Philadelphia Management, the Department of Aviation and Subway celebrated the arrival of the sandwich restaurant with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

“We’re excited to offer passengers another fresh, healthy option as they travel through the airport,” said Mel Hannah, vice president and general manager of MarketPlace Philadelphia Management. “I’m pleased to welcome Subway to the family of merchants at PHL.”

Headquartered in Milford, Conn., Subway is the world’s largest restaurant chain with more than 40,000 locations in 100 countries. The chain is known for its fresh, made-to-order sandwiches and wraps. It also serves a selection of salads, baked goods and beverages.
