Chickie’s & Pete’s and PGA Tour Shop Named PHL’s Restaurant and Retailer of the Third Quarter 2010-2011

PHILADELPHIA—April 18, 2011—The Philadelphia Marketplace Food & Shops at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) announced Chickie’s & Pete’s (International Terminal A West) and PGA Tour Shop (B/C Connector) as its Restaurant and Retailer of the Quarter for Q3 2010-2011.

The Philadelphia Marketplace’s Cutting EDGE! Program (Excellence Drives Great Experiences) was designed to motivate and reward merchants. Each merchant can earn EDGE! points for exceeding expectations through great customer service and participation in marketing programs. At the end of each quarter, the food and retail merchant with the most points are named “Merchant of the Quarter” respectively.

Located in International Terminal A West, as well as Concourses C and E, Chickie’s & Pete’s is a Philadelphia favorite serving their renowned crab fries and signature seafood dishes.

The PGA Tour Shop, located in the B/C Connector, offers the latest golf apparel and products for men and women.

“The staff at these locations goes above and beyond to make each customer’s time at PHL is an enjoyable one,” said Anna DiGregorio, Director of Marketing for the Philadelphia Marketplace Food & Shops. “Congratulations to Chickie’s & Pete’s and PGA Tour Shop on being named merchant of the third quarter.”

ABOUT CHICKIE’S AND PETE’S

The first Chickie’s & Pete’s was opened in 1977, in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia by Peter Sr. and his wife Henrietta. Peter and Henrietta’s son, Pete, began experimenting with seafood recipes and the Famous Crab Fries were born, making Chickie’s & Pete’s the most poplar bar around. Chickie’s & Pete’s has grown to include six locations in the tri-state area. In 1998, Chickie’s & Pete’s opened at Veterans’ Stadium. The following year, a much larger Chickie’s & Pete’s was developed on the Roosevelt Boulevard in the Far Northeast. The largest restaurant, located in a 24,000-square-foot former Super Fresh building on Packer Avenue in South Philadelphia, seats 750, features a 70-foot bar, 12-foot TV screen and has 100 employees.
