CELEBRATE THE SOUNDS OF THE SEASON AT PHILADELPHIA MARKETPLACE FOOD & SHOPS

PHILADELPHIA — Dec. 2, 2013 — Holiday travel will be merry and bright thanks to the Philadelphia MarketPlace Food & Shops at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). Passengers can enjoy festive events and special holiday sales throughout the month.
Passengers can get plenty of gift ideas from PHL’s exciting mix of retail merchants. Special gift tables available from 7 a.m.—10 p.m. in the B/C Connector and 7 a.m.—8 p.m. in the D/E Connector will showcase favorite gift items outside of storefronts.

Travelers on-the-go who need a gift for that special someone can take advantage of an exclusive gift with purchase. Shoppers that buy at least $150 of merchandise from any combination of MarketPlace retailers will receive a free BOPTM Bluetooth® Speaker from Brookstone. This compact wireless speaker delivers big sound and sticks to almost any surface with its suction cup feature. The speaker will be available through Dec. 24, or while supplies last. To redeem your gift, visit Brookstone, located in the B/C and D/E Connectors.

Free gift wrapping will be available from 8 a.m.—9 p.m. from Dec. 1—23, and from 8 a.m.—6 p.m. on Dec. 24 in the B/C Connector. Just present a receipt from a PHL retailer to get your gift ready to give.
Though flying by sleigh rather than plane, Santa will visit PHL’s seven terminals to greet passengers young and old Dec. 1—24 from 4—8 p.m., Dec. 10—24 from 11 a.m.—3 p.m. and Dec. 18—24 (B/C Baggage claim only) from 3—6 p.m.

There will also be “Secret Santas” in the airport who will give gifts to military passengers in full uniform. The men and women serving our country could receive phone cards, personal care items, restaurant gift cards and more.

Passengers can also hear Carolers dressed in Victorian finery performing traditional holiday songs throughout the airport on the following dates:

  • Dec. 1 from 1:30—3:30 p.m.
  • Dec. 6 from 1—3 p.m.
